By honoring individuals below 35 ,with an achievement to their names , the awards seeks to encourage those Igbo youths  who are making a positive impact early in life , the awards aim to  Identify and showcase emerging leaders and innovators.Encourage and motivate others to strive for excellence, Build an Igbo  community of proactive and influential Igbo individuals,provide a platform for networking and collaboration

The Akaraka Awards over the years has had a significant impact on the Igbo community, promoting values such as Innovation and creativity ,Leadership and influence ,Cultural significance and representation,Community service and social responsibility

By recognizing and celebrating iconic Igbo minds, the Akaraka Awards is aimed to help shape the future of the Igbo ethnic nationality.

Most Iconic Igbo minds

Nomination for the most iconic Igbo minds 2025  ( most valuable Igbo Youths ) is free and based on  

- Achievements in their field (e.g., arts, sciences, business, politics, not necessarily wealth .)

- Impact on the Igbo community or society at large

- Innovation and creativity

- Leadership and influence

- Cultural significance and representation.

Their impact on people's life and society

The soft spoken ,taciturn  first son of veteran Nollywood actor Chief Pete Edochie ,has carved a niche for himself as an astute business man ,philanthropist,and accomplished  family man .

High chief Leo Edochie has kept himself out of Nollywood , the public eye and shown relevance  more in the business turf aptly tagged "Solotones"

A latter day image of Okonkwo the ebubedike ,a character imagined  by Chinua Achebe played by Chief Pete Edochie and lived by high Chief Leo Edochie .

In his spare time chief Leo immerses himself in the green turfs and appreciates the sport of polo and golf .
